Overview

Toyota has long been a brand synonymous with affordable, long-lasting vehicles, and the latest version of the RAV4 is no different. It continues with the modest price tag common to Toyota vehicles and remains an excellent choice of crossover thanks to its versatility, fuel economy, and a number of advanced safety systems.

The RAV4 displays a sleek and stylish exterior design. A jutting nose, slim headlights, and full-body color give the RAV4 a bold, fresh look. But where the RAV4 shines is on the inside.

The RAV4's compact crossover nature belies a spacious interior (for both passengers and cargo) that can seat five with plenty of legroom. Buyers will find this roomy and comfortable cabin hard to beat.

The RAV4 provides everything you need and expect from a crossover. Toyota offers the 2018 RAV4 in five trims: the LE, XLE, SE, Limited, and Platinum. Even the base XLE trim comes with standard remote keyless entry, three 12V power outlets, and Toyota Safety Sense™ P (TSS-P), not to mention a towing capacity of 1,500 lbs.

The Perfect Ride for…

Those in the market for a quality compact crossover that's ready for any adventure life throws your way. With standard safety features like 10 airbags—including an advanced airbag system for both front seats—and the Toyota Safety Sense™ P suite, the 2018 RAV4 is a crossover that's as safe as it is spacious and stylish.

Drive & Handling

The 2018 Toyota RAV4 is available with your choice of a gas-powered V4 or hybrid powertrain.

The regular gas-powered RAV4 trims come equipped with a 2.5-liter V4 engine, one capable of 176 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. It’s mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. In addition, drivers can choose between Eco, Normal, and Sport drive modes, which adjust transmission shift points and throttle response. Eco mode helps to improve fuel efficiency while Sport mode allows for more aggressive driving and better handling. Fuel economy is rated at 23/30 mpg city/highway.*

RAV4 Hybrid trims receive Toyota’s trusted Hybrid Synergy Drive® system, which is also found in the Avalon Hybrid, Camry Hybrid, and Prius. The hybrid engine combines a 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle 4-cylinder engine and a trio of high-torque electric engines for a total of 184 horsepower. Though it can't go very far, the RAV4 Hybrid can run on electric power alone for when you're feeling extra eco-friendly. Fuel economy numbers for the hybrid check in at 34 mpg combined.*

Key Features

Standard Toyota Safety Sense™ P (TSS-P)

This safety system comes equipped with an entire host of features, including a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, and automatic high beams. These features work together to create a high-quality safety system that delivers peace of mind in any setting.

Console Tech: Entune® App Suite

With the RAV4's available Entune™ Audio Plus (with Connected Navigation App), you'll not only receive traffic and weather updates in most major metro areas, you'll also be able to access music; make reservations; and buy movie tickets with the help of the latest apps, like Pandora® and OpenTable®. You’ll also get access to sports scores, stocks, weather, and fuel prices.

Alternative Options

In the mood for something a bit smaller and more exciting? We recommend the 2018 C-HR. A stylish, athletic vehicle, the C-HR is stuffed with attractive tech and safety features to ensure you reach your destination safely and have a great time along the way. If you're looking for something a bit bigger, the Highlander is a great option. This SUV offers plenty of legroom, like the RAV4, with the performance and design you crave as well.
